As the Head Tutor here at Pass the OT and a 8 year seasoned OTR/L, my expertise is to help students pass the NBCOT exam and to cultivate the skills necessary to be confident, focused, and strategic during the test. My personal experiences and challenges with the exam have lead me to advocate for students and to develop a modality that is simple, straight forward, and targeted to your individual needs and learning style. Not only did I get a 530 on my first try, but I also have a deep understanding on how influential therapists are in the lives of their patients, because I am a trauma survivor myself. As a seasoned OT, mentoring staff and students is my passion, and even influenced my daughter who is now a COTA. Working in pediatrics for most of my career, and guest lecturing in two local university programs, I am well versed in understanding learning strengths and differences and can adapt to all learning styles. Understanding test questions and use of clinical reasoning are key areas we can develop together, especially in the complex area of pediatrics.

I have been an OT for 25 years and have worked in almost every setting. I have also worked in education for both MOT and OTA students, which included NBCOT exam prep and tutoring. I will help you break down and decode questions to identify key words and distractor words, as well as developing your clinical reasoning skills. One of the greatest keys to successful exam strategies is correctly identifying those key words. My passion is education for the profession I love and I get great satisfaction in being able to help students become therapists and assistants!
