In the classroom, a student in the 3rd grade has difficulty recognizing details in visual images and recognizing the likeness and differences of shapes/forms, colors and position of objects, people, and printed materials. In the student’s IEP several strategies were recommended, but after 4 months the strategies seem to no longer help the student. What should the OT do next?

If the students progress has plateaued then it is important to discuss new interventions with the special education teacher to be implemented in the classroom to yield more progress towards the student’s goals.
