An OT is conducting a standardized evaluation on a 5 year old boy who will be starting kindergarten in August. The results indicate that he is +2 standard deviations from the mean in the category of fine motor skills, -1 standard deviations from the mean in the category of gross motor skills, and -2 standard deviations from the mean in the category of visual motor skills. What should the OT indicate in the write up about qualifying the boy for OT services?
1. The boy qualifies for OT services in the area of visual motor skills
2. The boy qualifies for OT services in the area of fine motor skills
3. The boy qualifies for OT services in the area of fine motor skills, gross motor skills, and visual motor skills
4. The boy qualifies for OT services in the area of gross motor skills and visual motor skills

I don’t understand the answer choice. May someone please provide their rationale for clarity. THANKS!

1. the boy is -2 standard deviations from the mean in visual motor. He further delayed in visual motor therefore he would qualify for visual motor.
