Functional Capacity Evaluation. Based on Kyle’s injury history and mental health status, the OT determines that Kyle might benefit from a work hardening program. A Functional Capacity Evaluation is necessary to determine Kyle’s ability to perform the specific tasks required for his job before work hardening can begin. The OT would complete assessments of Kyle’s range of motion, strength and independent living skills as a part of the Functional Capacity Evaluation.
